The management of risks in the processing of plastic materials

The history of the development in the chemical industry and in particular the production of plastics has evolved together with the history of our civilisation over the last 150 years: no other material has been able to punctually accompany the emergence of new requirements, adapting to fashions and behaviour and become a protagonist of both maximum technological innovation and common everyday usage as well as this one. Thanks to these gifts, plastic penetrated our daily life quickly and decisively, replacing traditional materials, improving its characteristics and expanding its potential.
The particular nature of plastic exposes companies that produce it and use it to several peculiar risks
  • handling, dispersion, absorption of harmful / toxic substances
  • storage of combustible / flammable materials
  • development of "chemical" fires, i.e. fires which have special and different development and spreading characteristics compared to other phenomena
  • environmental pollution
  • on site recovery costs
  • high business value molds
  • complex equipment for different potential processing steps (molding, extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming)
Eurorisk assists companies in the management of risk that affect the entire production cycle, from the entry of raw materials into the company to the marketing of the finished product. Our intervention includes:
  • a technical intervention aimed at analysing how different company departments operate
  • the identification of particular risks that represent bottlenecks that undermine the results obtained by company and business continuity
  • the study of the best methodology for the operational management of business risks in order to take action for prevention (= reduction in frequency) and protection (= reduction of severity)
  • the planning and implementation of an appropriate insurance plan
  • consultation and ongoing support in the event of damage
