Using the insurance market is optimal only for a few business risks; it must be used solely for the purpose of replacing an uncertain element, potentially verifiable damage, with a certain element, the cost of the insurance premium, to guarantee safety of continuity for the company. It is therefore necessary for the company to avoid concluding contracts with hidden shadows or doubts about interpretation, which is a source of uncertainty at the time of application and the settlement of the claim, thus undermining the opportunity and the actual effectiveness of insurance.

The insurance broker

" Mediators or broker: the intermediaries acting on behalf of the customer, and who do not have powers of representation of insurance or reinsurance companies ". (Regulation ISVAP 5/2006 which transposes the Code of Private Insurance) 
 
The broker is the only intermediary authorised to undertake an impartial analysis of the Customer since it receives mandate only from the Customer and it is not bound by any constraints with insurance companies. For this very reason a broker can freely compare costs and benefits offered by all Companies operating on the market. The broker therefore acts as an intermediary in representation of the Customer with reference to the insurance company both in the design and the underwriting phase and for the duration of the insurance relationship.
